You Know Your H-index?


April 12-16 is National Library week! Festival of Boulder Labs library is released every Friday, 16 April, Thomson Reuters Kristin Culp will present a report on the h-index, as well as other citation tools seminars on us Web of Science database. Web of Science offers many advanced features, using can be daunting. H-index, how it works and what does it mean to understand, is no exception. In short, the h-index measures the impact of the individual scientific researchers; the higher the h-index, the greater the effect.  To display the questions you may have with respect to the h-index and other Science Web features one of the following locations:

Added 4/6/10Website redesign Update: the results of the research

Boulder Labs Library would like to thank everyone who participated in our survey web part-session in February and March. we have a total of 126 replies: 59 Respondents were members of the NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION, 59-NIST-7, NTIA, and one was a government employee is not tied to the above, the conclusions of the three organisations. other are:

Professional 100 respondents or 79.4% are scientific researchers, 4 (3,2%) are the administrative assistants5 (4%) IT experts 1 (0.8%) is a scientific technician 2 (1,6%) are in the student assistants1 (0.8%) is the parent administrationBrowsers (some managers access to more than one) 82 respondents or 65,1% use Firefox (30,2%) 38 off Internet Explorer 23 (18.3%) using Safari, the Apple Forum browser 30 (23.8%) Use Chrome, Opera, and the use of 43 othersWebsite respondents (34.1%) by using our site 1-3 times a week 21 (16.7%) use it daily42 (33,3%) three times monthFinding information us respondents (41%) 48 indicates that the data discovery is "somewhat" 38 (32.5%) to "very easy" 28 (23.9%) of the "Average" 3 (2.6%), "some difficult" is not found it "difficult."

This information from our Web site usage information and future reports and helps to determine our future Web pages look and structure of our site as a whole.

Added 4/12/10New IEEE Xplore Web interface makes Searching easier

IEEE Xplore new, streamlined interface is designed to optimize your searches.The following features:

An updated search experience. Search 2,612,290 documents directly in front of the page. (a) as a keyword search for the redesigned "advanced search" option that allows you to filter the Publisher, content type, subject and shall be published in the year. "Publication in the instant search, and search options by using the CrossRef and Scitopia are also available from the advanced search page. The ability to create search settings and updates as well as receiving updates and RSS feeds of the specified content. Browse journal titles, conferences, standards, books, Educational courses and Tech studies "Browse" tab.

In addition, the IEEE rolled out a new site design, including improvements to the ieee.org overall design and air navigation services for building ieee.org and IEEE Xplore now makes it easier through the navigation bar at the top of every page of both sites. Bar are included in the list of links to other sites, such as IEEE-THE IEEE Standards Association and Spectrum Online.

Two new free iPHone apps has its own IOP Science available!

Physicsworld allows you to retrieve your own iPhone News physicsworld.com. IOP Science allows you to upload up to article 20 on the iPhone.

Institute of Physics (IOP) launched a new site, IOP science in which all of the journals is centrally. it contains a wealth of features that make it easier for you fast access to content during the search., you can filter by date, author, subject, and the journal of the Association, the name of the user name and password to create your own IOP Science is free, you can: Login.

Tag articles and export the RSS feed. Obtain RSS feeds and email notifications when new content is published .View koevedoksia and news.Bookmark article sharing with colleagues.Use topic classification codes related articles.ReceiveTOC (Table of contents).Save searches.

In addition, you can view downloaded over the last three months and customize the IOP Homepage so that you view your research-related articles.
